How do you locate the owners of the unclaimed funds?
As an investigator/heir finder and pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, our company conducts computer searches using the State Controller’s Office database to search for people like you who are owed money.

Before we contact the unclaimed fund owner, we conduct extensive research in locating and confirming the identity of the rightful owner of the underlying property. We will not contact the owner, unless we believe that individual is entitled to those monies.

What are unclaimed funds?
Billions of dollars go unclaimed at the Federal level and state level and can be delivered to the State Controllers Office from a wide range of sources which can include: IRS, Savings and Checking accounts, Life insurance, Payouts, Stocks & dividends, Bonds, Escrow accounts, Utility deposits, Rental security deposit, Insurance benefits/policies and much more.
How much do you charge for your services?
We work on a contingency fee basis. We only get paid a percentage of the amount you get back only after you receive your money. There are absolutely no upfront fees. Once your claim has successfully been processed, the State Controllers Office will issue a check directly to you, they will also issue a separate check to us. We receive a one time 10% of the total amount of funds recovered per agreement we submit with the claim package.
Is any upfront agreement to sign up?
Max Deem LLC requires no upfront costs. We simply require you to sign an engagement letter.

Next we begin to work on the claim package utilizing the forms and documents in compliance with state laws and regulations including the standard agreement between us drafted by the State of California. Your signature and ours protects both parties privacy and sensitive information filed with the claim, that keeps both accountable to follow all state regulations.
How long does it take to get paid?
There are a number of factors that are considered which depend on how quickly you will receive your funds. Some claims can be paid in as little as two or three weeks, while others can take 90 days or more. It all depends on the type of claim and how the claim package was submitted to State Controller’s Office. We will expedite filing your claim to ensure there are no delays.

Max Deem LLC will assist you from beginning to assist you in retrieving your unclaimed monies. We will work hand in hand with the State Controller’s Office so that they can have all the information they need to process the claim. Once the State Controller’s Office receives the claim package, they will review it, and make a determination as to whether the documentation supports the claim and the claimer.
